An Explosive Journey

An Explosive Journey is a VR Game where the player must make it from the pub to the outhouse. However, to make it to the outhouse the player has to make their way across a landmine field, with the help of the surrounding mine-detecting tools.

My Roles

Producing:
In this project, I played the role of Producer, where I was responsible for overseeing the development process from start to finish. My primary duties included task delegation, ensuring that each team member understood their responsibilities and deadlines, and design oversight, making sure the game’s design remained cohesive and aligned with the original vision.

I also took charge of scheduling, creating, and maintaining the project timeline, defining milestones, and ensuring that the team stayed on track to meet deadlines. Throughout the project, I facilitated communication between departments, managed resources, and prioritized tasks to maintain workflow efficiency.


Sound Design:
Given the game's premise, where the player navigates through a dangerous landmine field, it was clear from the outset that audio would play a crucial role in enhancing the immersive experience and contributing to the game's overall success. The sound design needed to create tension, emphasize player actions and reinforce the high stakes of the environment.

I was responsible for sourcing, editing, and implementing all audio assets into the game. This involved identifying the right soundscapes to match the atmosphere of the landmine field, as well as creating unique sound effects that responded to the player’s movements, interactions, and environmental cues. I worked closely with the design team to ensure that the audio dynamically supported gameplay mechanics, heightening the player’s sense of danger and urgency.

Additionally, I handled the technical implementation, ensuring that all audio was properly integrated within the game engine, balanced, and optimized for performance.
